It’s only small, the eye is 12mm across :)
Thinking of making something out of this glass eye jewellery thing. At the minute, I’ve only got one spare albino cat eye set in a sterling silver base and matching trace chain but I don’t know if that was a good place to start because it’s red and it looks a little bit creepy. I can’t help but think that people would be more likely to buy a ‘nicer’ colour.
Maybe setting up shop with other bits of odd taxidermy/fur related jewellery? I’ve got my eye on a rabbit pelt that I could make brooches out of and there’s a heap of other kinds of eye in my basket on the supplier website. I need something to do over summer, it’d be good if this was it..
Did I tell you about the fake skin? There’s fake skin. The dots are sewing patterns(?)!

Finally got taxidermy photos! Really dragging this out..

Taxidermy project! Well, 1/4 of it. This is kit 3 of 4, I couldn’t upload all of it because there’s just too much but I think this one’s my favourite. From top to bottom - Instruction manual, manual cover, box cover/packaging, 2 promotional postcards. The idea was to kind of desensitize people to thegrossness of taxidermy. Kit three covers gluing/sewing, and the kit would include a miniature deer form and felt deer mask. All digital for now because, being the intelligent individual that I am, I forgot to take photos of the finished project before I handed it in. The manual is folded kind of like a map, on a fine paper. Other kits include skills such as sewing, ‘skinning’ and tanning, through alternative methods, of course. There aren’t any animal products within the kits, my aim was to sell the craft as an alternative to something more widely practised such as knitting.

Sneaky look at what I’ve been up to. This is 3/4 of the covers for the manuals that I’m working on! They’re to teach how to be a taxidermist without being gross, some of it has turned out quite surreal. But I’ve been working really hard on them and I’m not actually too far from finishing the whole thing now. Each cover has a different kind of deer on it and in each manual there’s a little section about each ‘cover deer’. Putting them together like this has made me realise that there are a lot of inconsistencies, I still need to alter all of the colour schemes and some of the text could maybe do with altering but yeah. Yaay :)
Not aligning them properly just yet. Second, maybe? The fruit and felt goes with the kits by the way, haha.
Need postcards, first idea.
Maybe?
My audience is female. Trying out some better colours.
Totally gonna find a way to get this included in my project…
Bringing taxidermy to the masses. One of the ideas for my hobbies brief, this is part of the instruction manual.
